E-Waste campaign
E-waste is one of the fastest growing waste streams in Australia. E-waste contains materials which may present risks to human health and the environment if not disposed of appropriately. It also contains recoverable materials, often including materials that are high in value.
This campaign encourages the community to responsibly manage more of their e-waste items (batteries, computers, laptops, tablets, mobile phones, TVs, and light globes etc) by demonstrating easy-to-adopt reuse or drop-off behaviours. The resources also aim to interrupt incorrect household behaviours, specifically the placing of household batteries and e-waste in the kerbside collection bins.
The assets include videos, radio ads, social media content and web banners featuring the 'Take' character from the GREAT Sorts behaviour change campaign. They are available for use by local governments, regional councils, and other stakeholders, and can be downloaded below.
We encourage stakeholders to co-brand these assets or integrate elements of the campaign into their own specialised waste recycling messages. For any modifications to the creative assets, please contact the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation at info@wastesorted.wa.gov.au.
