Reduce food waste campaign
The reduce food waste campaign includes a set of downloadable resources to communicate clear messages about reducing food waste and the volume of waste being sent to landfill. Our collection of resources offers practical tips, strategies, and information to empower members of your community to take action against food waste and make a positive impact.
These resources feature real-life actors demonstrating positive norms and behaviours related to reducing food waste in everyday situations, making it easier for your community members to relate to and adopt sustainable practices. Whether it's using up leftover ingredients in delicious recipes or packing them in lunchboxes, our campaign language disrupts traditional thinking and prompts positive action. Additional ideas can be sourced from our recent article on ‘Make every day a stop food waste day’. They are available for use by local governments, regional councils and other stakeholders committed to food waste reduction and can be downloaded below.
Some stakeholders may wish to co-brand assets or use elements of the campaign to deliver their own food waste reduction messages. Should alteration of creative assets be required, please email the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation on at email info@wastesorted.wa.gov.au.
